Why is Kindergarten important?
Kindergarten is a unique environment that supports both learning and development. At VCA, we encourage students to explore and grow through trial and error, observation, listening, and hands-on participation. Using an academically rigorous and developmentally appropriate curriculum, our Kindergarten program helps students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and prepare for success in their elementary years.

1. Physical Development
Our Kindergarten students continue strengthening their fine and gross motor skills through hands-on activities such as outdoor play, cutting with scissors, writing practice, and more.
2. Social & Emotional Development
We promote healthy social and emotional growth by teaching children how to take turns, solve problems calmly, manage emotions, and communicate respectfully with both peers and teachers.
3. Approaches to Learning
We inspire a love of learning by encouraging curiosity, confidence, and perseverance. Our students learn with excitement and joy while developing focus, independence, and an increased attention span throughout the year.
4. Communication & Language
In Kindergarten, students make major strides in reading and writing. Children learn new sight words, letter recognition, the difference between uppercase and lowercase letters, and how to write complete sentences.
5. Cognition
Our Kindergarteners develop critical thinking skills through engaging learning experiences that focus on comprehension, storytelling, sorting, problem-solving, and memory-building activities.
Christian Education
At Valley Christian Academy we are so proud that we have the opportunity to teach little ones about Christ! At our school we are not afraid to pray with kids, teach them bible stories, and talk about God. Teaching about Christ from a young age is quintessential to their faith throughout their entire lives! We participate in prayer daily, discuss bible stories in class, and hold a live chapel once a week in our multipurpose room.
