Director’s Corner

It has been an amazing 3 months!  VCA is going strong, the students are learning at a rapid pace, and God continues to bless us. Let’s thank and praise Him!

During this time, life can feel overbearing as we endure our nation’s present challenges.  Let’s remember that God is sovereign over all! He has a solution and will make a way! Let’s teach our kids to focus on Jesus, and not on the problems at hand.

At Valley Christian Academy, we are focused on teaching our children the history of America and of our forefathers. “In God we trust.”   We must guide them and equip them with these foundational principals, in tandem with the truth of God’s Word.

Also, we are getting quite excited for our Stone Soup performances, and are looking forward to seeing so many parents on 11/13!  Thank you, parents, for your heart to serve the school and help create BRAND NEW props to keep this play fun and fresh. You are the backbone and the heart of our school.

God has got us in the palm of his hands. We will have a wonderful November, and I wish each of you an incredible Thanksgiving holiday. Be blessed!

Devotional

Psalm 107:31 NIV—“Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind.”

Take a minute or two and read the 107th Psalm and journal your gratitude. Here are some great starting points:

  • He guides when we cannot find our way.
  • He forgives our sins and breaks the chains that hold us in the bondage of our own guilt.
  • He saves us from distress, affliction, and troubles.
  • He meets our needs, rewards our faith, and blesses us in ways we never imagined.Excerpt from “An Apple A Day” devotional by Kathy Branzell

STONE SOUP

This year will be our 22nd annual production of our preschool department’s rendition of Stone Soup. It is a lighthearted Thanksgiving story of a hungry traveler who cleverly teaches peasants how to share their food by making a lavish soup out of seemingly nothing but stones. Each year it is heartwarming to see our youngest students bring this tale to life.

Each child has an important part to play in this event, and all teachers have sent home information about your child’s specific costume. Even though our preschoolers will be taking time outside of the classroom to put on this performance, class will still be in session for all ages throughout the remainder of the day, both preschool and elementary.

In light of current COVID-19 restrictions, we will be selling “Stone Soup” kits at both campuses in lieu of our normal soup luncheon and contest. Contact El Sanderson at momsinprayer@vcacolorado.com to preorder your soup today! Flowers will also be for sale by our campus Moms In Prayer volunteers, so make sure to give your sweet little star the recognition they deserve!  (We will be releasing updated coronavirus guidelines for this event as soon as they are finalized and presented to us.)

Performances will be at 09:00 & 10:30 at Restoration & 11:30 at Friendship, so please makes sure to check with your child’s teacher for which performance he or she will be in.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

Philippians 4:6 NLT
