We’re halfway through the summer and you may be thinking that you’ve done everything there is in Colorado Springs & Fountain with your kids. Well, we have a few more ideas to throw your way!

1. Focus on the Family

Focus on the family is a great place to visit with your kids on a hot summer day! Guests can become better acquainted with Focus on the Family through a self-guided walking tour, as well as have fun with their children in the Kids’ Korner play area and Whit’s End Soda Shoppe. With an indoor slide, dramatic play area, and more this spot is iconic for the colorado springs area.

2. May Natural History Museum

The May Natural History Museum is a surprisingly quiet attraction in Colorado Springs. Known as the bug museum, this museum is the world’s largest private insect collection with over 7,000 species of beautiful butterflies, moths, bizarre beetles, giant spiders, deadly scorpions and more!

3. Space Foundation Discovery Center

Grab your kids and learn something new about outer space. The Space Foundation is an interactive, education-focused destination that advances science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Either give yourselves a self-guided tour, or come for an interactive workshop!

4. Hiking and Nature Centers

One of the benefits of living in colorado is the expanse of outdoor activities, hiking, and more that we have accessible to us! Instill an appreciation for nature and creation in your child this summer. Bonus – Bear Creek Park, Helen Hunt Falls, Garden of the Gods, and Fountain Nature Center all have interactive indoor learning areas for kids!

5. Summer Camp

Don’t have time for all of these activities? Or looking for a change of pace this summer? We still have room available for our Summer Camps in July! Elementary students go on multiple field trips each week to the places listed above and more. Email us at info@vcacolorado.com for more information!
